Bay View will soon have new joint that promises to cure both cottonmouth and the munchies (pun very much intended).

A second location for Cheba Hut, the infamous marijuana-themed sub shop, is currently baking at 2202 S Kinnickinnic Ave. That’s the retail space below the Vue Apartments which formerly housed Red Brick Pizza, a venue which closed last year after struggling with long-term staffing issues during the pandemic.

The Colorado-based chain, which was founded in 1998, established its first Milwaukee location at 2907 N. Oakland Ave.  In fact, we did a FoodCrush taste test of their subs shortly after they opened. Check out our review of their edibles here.

Cheba Hut offers a menu featuring 30 toasted subs (many named for marijuana strains, natch) served on hand-rolled, hand-scored Parisian-style bread that’s available in white, whole wheat, or garlic herb.

Popular sandwiches include the White Widow (chicken, ranch dressing, mushrooms, bacon, and provolone), the Kali Mist (roasted turkey breast, chipotle mayo, fresh jalapeños, bacon, pepper jack, and avocado) and a slew of others. You’ll also find myriad munchies, including nachos, rice krispie treats and more.
