It doesn’t, though, include Milwaukee, other than support from our politicians.
It was thought that some Milwaukee-area venues could be included in the bid since the proposal is, as the Tribune states, a "Midwest bid."
The Tribune said leaders in Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan (have) expressed support to the USOC even though only two events -- soccer preliminaries at Notre Dame and whitewater canoe/kayak in South Bend -- would be beyond the Chicago metropolitan area. Chicago would use Northwestern University, and other non-Downtown venues, but nothing in Milwaukee.
There is little doubt, though, if Chicago were to secure the Games that the Milwaukee and Kenosha areas would benefit enormously.
Chicago is among five cities that presented preliminary plans to U.S. Olympic Committee officials last month in California. Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston and Philadelphia also offered proposals. The IOC will pick the 2016 host in October 2009.

He owns a condo in Downtown and lives in greater Milwaukee with his wife Stephanie, his son, Jake, and daughter Pierce. He's a political, music, sports and news junkie and thinks, for what it's worth, that all new movies should be released in theaters, on demand, online and on DVD simultaneously.
He also thinks you should read OnMilwaukee each and every day.
