Allow your lips to meet the rim of a beautifully glowing red cocktail. Slowly, take your first sip and taste how smooth and sweet this cocktail is as it slips across your taste buds. After this first sip, you'll be begging for more. Satisfy this craving: You won’t regret it with The Yulonda.
I encourage you to get outside this week, enjoy the sun and clear blue skies, and walk yourself into Explorium Brewpub in the Third Ward where you can find our latest Cocktail Porn spotlight courtesy of bartender Yulonda, who has been bartending for over 22 years. Her self-titled cocktail is an addictive concoction that will seduce your taste buds into wanting more.
“I like making the brandy old fashioned because it’s a Wisconsin original that guests love and I always hear that I make the best they’ve ever had,” she said.
The Yulonda features Crown Apple as the base liquor, with a splash of cranberry and lemonade, a touch of ginger ale and garnished with a small slice of lemon, lime and a maraschino cherry for its succulent appeal.
“I personally love Crown Apple, and I think it’s a nice and cozy cocktail for the winter,” she said.
Fortunately, this concoction isn't just for the winter months courtesy of Yulonda, whose love for cocktails clearly shows through each drink she makes – including her personalized cocktail.
Besides serving as home to this very addicting cocktail, Explorium is a lot more than just a bar and restaurant in the Third Ward, according to Yulonda.
“I like the family atmosphere and how great our staff’s relationship is with one another. We are truly a family,” she said.
