For the latest Cocktail Porn spotlight cocktail video, I'm highlighting the Mexican-Italian fusion restaurant Tauro Cocina.
Found in the former Trocadero building at 1758 N. Water St., this family restaurant is owned by a Mexican immigrant couple, Alberto and Ahide Valdepena. With the help of their sons Alberto and Marco, they’ve developed a unique and tasteful cocktail menu.
Follow along with bartender Matt while he shows off his 14 years of professional bartending and mixology skills with the sweet-meets-spicy Toro Mambo. A red cocktail with chili horns highlighting the essence of Tauro, the Toro Mambo features mezcal, refreshing pomegranate juice, chile de arbol syrup, freshly squeezed lime juice and a spicy tajín rim that'll have your tastebuds begging for more.
Watch this fierce drink come to life for yourself here:
Follow this flavorful drink up with something fun and floral like the Jardin De Guadalupe. Alberto developed this cocktail to commemorate the family’s Abuelita Guadalupe, who loved to be surrounded by gardens and gifted flowers. This stunningly gorgeous concoction features a handcrafted 21 botanicals, McQueen gin, juicy limoncello, fresh lemon juice and vegan-friendly Aquafaba.
While you're at it, get in on an Italian Paloma as well, the perfect drink to describe Tauro Cocina’s Mexican-Italian fusion. The marriage of Aperol Spritz and a Paloma cocktail showcase notes of refreshing citrus and sweet agave nectar, complete with a mouth-watering salt rum and dressed with a dehydrated grapefruit slice.
