In case you missed it (or purposely are trying to avoid it), a giant political event is coming to town next week, with all the media circuses, divisive discourse and street closures that come with a modern political extravaganza. But it's not all bad, though: There'll be puppies too!

In addition to hosting a number of tapings during next week's Republican National Convention, Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" will also host "InDogCision 2024: Rescuing Democracy," a free voting advocacy and animal adoption gathering in Cathedral Square Park on Sunday, July 14.

Hosted from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. – in collaboration with voter registration group Headcount and the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) – the Brew City "InDogCision 2024" stop will feature giveaways for both two- and four-legged attendees, puppo photoshoots and adorable pets available for adopting into their forever homes. The event will also offer voter registration opportunities for the upcoming presidential election, as well as meet-and-greet chances with stars from the "Daily Show" news team. (But really, we know the stars are the precious puppers.)

The free Milwaukee event marks the second stop on the "InDogCision 2024: Rescuing Democracy" tour, which started with a similar gathering in New York City last month. After the RNC-tied "InDogCision," the tour will make its way to Chicago for another stop along with the DNC next month, with more to come before November's big election.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
