Doug Baretz and John Theisen have come a long way since they began their careers at Domino’s. Baretz started as a management trainee in 1988, while Theisen started as a delivery driver in 1986.

The local co-owners of 17 Domino’s stores located in and around Milwaukee, Wis., in addition to Ill. were awarded the esteemed International Franchise Association Gold Franny Award for operational excellence. This is their third Gold Franny Award.

The Gold Franny Award is the most prestigious honor bestowed on a Domino’s franchise owner. Baretz and Theisen earned this award as part of an elite group within about 900 franchise owners in the United States. The awards are based on several key factors including operational audit scores, community involvement, store safety and security, and team member morale.

The Gold Franny Awards were created more than 20 years ago by the International Franchise Association and designed to honor excellence among franchise owners.

"Doug and John’s personal commitments, leadership and determination to grow their franchise made them tremendously successful in 2014," said Scott Hinshaw, Domino’s executive vice president of franchise operations and development. "The idea of beginning as a management trainee and delivery driver and working your way toward fulfilling the dream of becoming an award-winning franchise owner is what Domino’s is all about."
