Drybar, a hair salon focused solely on blowouts and styling, will open its second Metro Milwaukee location at 324 E. Silver Spring Drive in Whitefish Bay on Friday, July 21.

"We focus on one thing: blowouts and styling. We have blowouts, braids and updos as well as a variety of add-on treatments available to enhance and boost your blowout," says owner Joy Vertz.

A Grand Opening event will be held from 3 to 8 p.m., with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Light appetizers and refreshments will be available, along with giveaways and exclusive discounts to both new and existing members.

“A significant portion of our Downtown clients call the North Shore home, so we’re thrilled to be opening in Whitefish Bay,” says Vertz. “We’re also especially excited to join the vibrant Whitefish Bay small business community and sincerely hope that our presence proves to be synergistic with other local businesses.”

This location will employ 20 people and offer eight chairs as well as a two-chair, dry-style station. Blowouts start at $59, with multiple add-on service options like a scalp massage or hydrating treatment.

This is the fifth Drybar location for Vertz, who also owns three Drybar locations in the Chicagoland area.

“Milwaukeeans wholeheartedly embraced our Third Ward salon when it opened five years ago,” says Vertz. “I can’t wait to see what the next five years will hold. I’m immensely grateful to both our clients and talented stylists for their unwavering support, kindness and loyalty.”

So what's this summer's hottest blow-out?

"The most popular trend we are seeing in blowouts this summer is the classic brush curl blowout. We call it the Straight Up and it's smooth, bouncy and timeless," says Vertz.

The Whitefish Bay location will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays; from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Appointments can be booked here, through the Drybar iPhone or Android app or by calling (414) 285-3310.
