Satisfy your cheese craving and support a Wisconsin-based business by going to Macaroni and Cheese Shop (MACS).

The chain, opened in 2013, has seven locations throughout the state and is open 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. The Brookfield and Oak Creek locations are the ones closest to Downtown Milwaukee.

The menu offers a variety of items, from mac 'n' cheese skillets to melts, from salads to desserts. Most of their mac 'n' cheese skillets, except for a select few, come in two sizes. The larger size is a lot of mac 'n' cheese, topped with even more food, so if you order the larger size, either show up extremely hungry, bring someone along to share or be prepared to take some home.

The loaded baked potato mac includes cheddar, mozzarella, baked potato slices, bacon, sour cream and chives. The dish is then topped with slices of toast to soak up all that cheesy goodness.

The cheese duo was the perfect combo for the macaroni; it made the dish creamy and tastier than just your standard mac 'n' cheese flavor. The baked potato slices and pieces of toast added a satisfying starch to the mix that switched things up from your usual blue box of mac 'n' cheese. Chives and sour cream added much needed flavorful bite, while the bacon bits provided some extra savory pieces. And also it's bacon.

Everything comes baked, so the cheese on top turned into a chewy delicious crust. This delicious dish is paired well with one of MACS's desserts, such as cheesecake. Pictured here is the Brown Cow cheesecake, which is a rich combination of chocolate and caramel, plus a sprinkling of nuts.

Lactose-intolerants beware, however: This meal is a dairy overload! As for everyone else, though, make your move to MACS.
