Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope. It's ... Super Fonz.

The Bronze Fonz is joining in the fight against breast cancer, beginning Monday, Sept. 16, when he will be adorned with a pink superhero cape by Kohl's Cares.

Other local icons that will don pink in support of breast cancer research are Gertie the Duck, the Pere Marquette statue at Pere Marquette Park, the Solomon Juneau statue, Letter Carriers Monument, Washington Monument-Court of Honor on Wisconsin Avenue and more.

The statues will remain caped for public viewing through Sept. 22, in anticipation of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
