Join us on Saturday, July 22 for some lakeside munchies at the second annual OnMilwaukee Food Truck Fest. Choose from a menu of 20 trucks and enjoy the live music, games and entertainment. It's the biggest gathering of the best food on four wheels.

Olivia Menzia has always loved ice cream. But when she started her own ice cream brand, she decided to not only tackle the growing demand for plant-based ice cream while producing a product that’s just as delicious as any dairy-based treat.

On this week’s podcast, we’re chatting with Menzia about the origin of Liv a Little Ice Cream (which hearkens back to her college days), why she chose to tackle dairy-free ice cream and the inspiration behind her cleverly named ice cream flavors. We also chat about what she gleaned from her education at Penn State’s ice cream short course and her plans for the future of her business.

Lori is an avid cook whose accrual of condiments and spices is rivaled only by her cookbook collection. Her passion for the culinary industry was birthed while balancing A&W root beer mugs as a teenage carhop, fed by insatiable curiosity and fueled by the people whose stories entwine with each and every dish. She’s had the privilege of chronicling these tales via numerous media, including OnMilwaukee and in her book “Milwaukee Food.” Her work has garnered journalism awards from entities including the Milwaukee Press Club.

When she’s not eating, photographing food, writing or recording the FoodCrush podcast, you’ll find Lori seeking out adventures with her husband Paul, traveling, cooking, reading, learning, snuggling with her cats and looking for ways to make a difference.
