Female grillers are some of the most passionate and talented when it comes to weilding a tongs over an open flame.

OnMilwaukee and On The Rocks ready-to-pour cocktails teamed up and  tracked down a half dozen of local gal grillmasters. Grab your own OTR from a local store and get grilling!

According to popular market research company NPD Group, only 19 percent of American women in heterosexual relationships assume grilling duties during a barbeque. These statistics have remained the same for at least 30 years.

Dubbed "the one and only male-dominated appliance in America," the grill is seen by many cisgender men as a socially-acceptable place to wear an apron. But despite the uneven ratio, female grillers are some of the most passionate and talented when it comes to wielding tongs over an open flame.

OnMilwaukee and On The Rocks ready-to-pour cocktails teamed up and tracked down local gal grillmasters. Each participating woman picked what they wanted to grill, where they wanted to buy their grillables, how they wanted to grill and the perfect OTR cocktail to accompany the process.

This is the third episode of  "Girls Who Grill," and Greenfield's Courtney Bondar shows us how to grill a sirloin steak sandwich on sour dough bread topped with burrate cheese along with scratch-made guacamole and chimichurri.

Gas or charcoal: I like charcoal, but for the sake of convenience and time I'm using a Blackstone. It's so much easier.

What you're grilling: Medium rare, petite sirloin steak sandwich on sour dough bread with burrata cheese, guacamole and chimichurri.

Who taught you to grill: My dad. When I was little, my dad grilled all the time, and in 2015 he pulled me outside said it was time for me to learn a new skill. The first thing he taught me to make was, believe it or not, ribs. (Ribs are one of the more-challenging meats to grill.)

What are your go-to spices for steak: Old Bay, paprika, Adobo seasoning and pepper. I put Old Bay on everything.

One grilling tip for steak: I grill mine for four minutes on each side in direct heat and then I move them a little bit a way from direct heat for about another three minutes. If I'm making a steak sandwich, I also recommend sourdough bread and warming it up on a flat top before making the sandwiches.

What's in your chimichurri sauce: Parsley, cilantro, red pepper flakes and olive oil. It's such a great compliment to steak.

OTR cocktail paired with meal: Strawberry daiquiri.
