If you’re like most, you’ve got a whole slew of New Year’s resolutions to attend to, and at least one of those is likely health and fitness related. But unfortunately, if you’re like most (80 percent), those resolutions will be tossed out the door by now. That said, it’s not too late to get back on the right track and make 2020 your best year to date!
After personally going to F45 the last several months, loving the workouts and culture they’ve built, and seeing results, I wanted to bring Wade Ritchie and Tasha Tyriver on the podcast this week to break down proper goal setting, diet and fitness.
So what can you do to save your shiny new resolution? According to Tasha, head trainer, it’s about setting attainable goals and setting yourself up for success with sustainable habits and strong community support.
"We focus on community," Tyriver says. "The first time someone walks into a group training class, it’s like the first day of school. We make sure people feel welcome. If you’re in a group that’s motivating and positive, you’re going to see results."
Diet is another important piece of the puzzle; with all of the fad diets and different options out there, it can be tough to find something that works in the long run. According to Wade Ritchie, it’s not about going paleo, keto, vegan or anything else. It’s about finding something that works for you as an individual and making sure you’re making healthy choices across the board.
"There’s not a one-size-fits-all (solution), as far as nutrition goes," Ritchie says. "The key to nutrition is diversity."
If you’d like to dig deeper and grab a few more tips to help you reach your fitness goals, this episode is for you. In addition to what’s above, Richie, Wade and Tasha talk about taking care of yourself mentally, what it’s been like to start a gym in Milwaukee, and much more.
