If you’ve been missing Goodkind, 2457 S Wentworth Ave., as much as we have, this news will be some of the best you've heard all day.
On Tuesday, May 5, the restaurant -- which has been closed since March -- will make a comeback with a special one-day curbside burger offering.
The featured burger features a half-pound dry aged beef chuck patty topped with "Call it a Night" Manhattan onion jam, Carr Valley cave-aged cheddar, Lone Duck Farms mixed greens and spicy Dijon mustard.
A veggie burger will also be available with a housemade beet, cashew and white bean patty, mixed greens, red onion, pickles and cucumber aioli (vegan buns available upon request).
Fries will also be available with housemade ramp ranch for dipping. And guests can choose from three beverage options to accompany, including bottled Szechuan ginger beer; a jarred Call it a Night Manhattan or a Central Waters Mudpuppy Porter.
But that's not all. You can also do some good with your burger order.
Eco-friendly & community-centric
In keeping with Goodkind’s commitment to sustainability and reduced waste, food will be packaged in compostable and biodegradable serveware. In addition, guests can participate in the "Message in a Bottle" program by returning beverage jars and bottles and placing them in the receptacle outside the restaurant where they will be recycled.
Guests can also purchase a "Plate it Forward" $5 community meal, which will go toward meals for the community at The Tandem or other community or farm initiatives. Be sure to grab a Goodkind gift card or merch while you're on their website.
"We just really f-ing miss everybody," notes co-owner Katie Rose, who says the ownership staff has spent the past few weeks completing a variety of projects –from painting and tiling to refinishing the bar – in preparation for guests to return. "And we’re so excited to make customers happy again and get back again to being part of our neighborhood and our community."
Place your order
The inaugural run of burger night burgers will be limited. Burgers will be available for pre-order beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5. To place your order, head to the Goodkind website and click the "carryout" button. Burgers will be available for curbside pick-up on Tuesday evening (May 5) between 4 and 8 p.m.
And yes, it’s possible that future burger nights (and more tasty things) are in the works, so be sure to watch the Goodkind Instagram feed for announcements and good news.
