On Sunday, Sept. 17 we’ll be halfway to St. Patrick’s Day and the good folks at The Explorium Brewpub in Southridge Mall are eager to celebrate.
The Greendale brewery, taproom and restaurant will host an Irish-themed gala from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. with live music by Hearthfire and Paddygrass, as well as demonstrations by the Glencastle Irish Dancers.
In addition to The Explorium’s great lineup of tap beers, there will be Irish whiskey specials, Irish Mules and Irish Coffee, plus the unique Irish Maid with elderflower liqueur and Irish whiskey.
The Explorium’s own Kevin Doran will set aside his pizza peel to whip up some Irish favorites like potato and leek soup, mini shepherd’s pie and Bailey’s Irish Cream cheesecake.
“I’d like to invite the whole community out to our patio to enjoy some great Irish music, food, and drink, while we celebrate one of the many reasons America is so great with the multitude of our cultures,” says The Explorium’s owner, Mike Doble.
“In just a couple weeks we’ll be holding a similar celebration of our German heritage with our Oktoberfest party. It’s just wonderful that so many folks in our community keep the unique traditions of these amazing cultures alive every day through music, dance, food, and beverage. Personally, I’m most excited for the Irish Dance demonstration by youth from our neighborhood.”
The celebration is free and open to all. Find the Facebook event page here.
