The Brewers placed shortstop J.J. Hardy on the 15-day disabled today with a severe sprain of the distal ligament in his right ankle. Hardy suffered the injury last night vs. Philadelphia sliding into catcher Sal Fasano on a play at the plate. He is expected to miss two to six weeks.

In his place, the team called up outfielder Corey Hart from AAA Nashville. With the Sounds, Hart was batting .320 with four home runs. He began the season on the Brewers rosters before being optioned on April 18.
