Welp, file this one under genius.

Earlier this week, the Wisconsin Humane Society posted an fundraising offer: for a $15 donation to the organization, an unskilled artist would draw a picture of your pet.

"It's time to put the 'fun' back in fundraising ... if you donate $15 to the animals at WHS, we'll draw your pet," its Facebook post said. "We have a pool of staff and volunteers standing by, eager to turn your animal into a timeless work of art (or at least make you laugh). You might get one of our extremely talented artists, but we'll be honest ... you'll probably get someone who can't draw their way out of a paper bag."

Within minutes of the post, the donations came pouring in and within 48 hours they had 700 submissions and raised $12,000.

More than 50 volunteers and staff put on their artist caps to draw the animals. A few were professional artists but, according to Angela Speed of the Wisconsin Humane Society, most "probably got a ‘C’ in high school art class."

Due to the overwhelming response, WHS is no longer taking submissions, but this fundraising effort just might return in the future. In the meantime, enjoy a few more of these masterpieces:
