Kite-flying is a simple activity, yet one that brings many people of all ages immense joy, excitement and serenity – whether they're flying or watching.

Greendale gets a taste of the enchantment this weekend when Kites Over Greendale, presented by Gift of Wings, returns to Community Park on Saturday, Aug. 31, from noon to 4 p.m. The event is free.

Experienced kite-flyers will show off their mesmerizing skills with giant kites and stunt kites. Guests can bring their own kites or buy one on site to join in the tethered fun.

Activities include a “Candy Throw” at 1 p.m. and The Kids' Mad Dash at 2 p.m. Food and drink will also be available. Here's more:
