Frostily standing in line outside a shopping mall at unfathomable hours in the morning on Black Friday in the name of fighting off fellow patrons for slightly cheaper televisions and toys? A bummer. Frostily standing in line outside a brewery at unfathomable hours in the morning on Black Friday in the name of beer, however? That we can get behind.
On Friday, Nov. 25, Lakefront will host its fifth annual Black Friday event, selling its special one-day-only Black Friday beer as well as Pumpkin Lager six-packs and exclusive Black Friday hats. The sale officially starts at 8 a.m., but hot food and drinks will be served in a tented area starting at 6 a.m., and many beer-lovers start lining up the night before.
"People really love this event," said Russ Klisch, Lakefront Brewery founder and president, in a press release, "and they look forward to purchasing our Black Friday, which they can only get this one day each year. Our Black Friday was brewed back in February, then aged in bourbon barrels for 10 months, where it picks up the vanilla and oak notes that really bring out the beer’s big chocolatey and roasted malt flavors. Our Eastside Dark, which just won the 2016 European Beer Star Gold Medal, will also be on tap."
As for Lakefront's regular entertainment, tours on Black Friday will begin at 1 p.m., and the beer hall's Friday fish fry will be served from 4 until 9 p.m., with the Brewhaus Polka Kings providing live music and entertainment from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m.
