The Great Milwaukee Summer is HERE! Your guide to what you'll be doing, where you'll be drinking, who you'll be hearing and how you'll be getting a sweet tan this summer is on OnMilwaukee. The Great Milwaukee Summer guide is brought to you by Geis Garage Doors and Peoples State Bank

If you're eager for local beer while you're enjoying the Big Gig, Milwaukee's own Lakefront Brewery not only pours some of its favorite brews this year, but also brings back its special daily firkins.

Lakefront's regular tap list includes the beloved Riverwest Stein amber lager, IPA, Hazy Rabbit IPA, Chilly Rabbit cold IPA, Dive Beer lager, Brewsicle peach mango wheat ale, New Grist Gosa Rita gluten-free margarita-style ale and Riverwest Stein NA.

Then, each day at 4 p.m., Lakefront will tap another firkin, a small keg of a special brew available only until that keg runs out.

Here's the list:

Lakefront Summerfest firkinsX

Thursday, June 20 – IPA dry-hopped with Idaho Gem hops, 6.7 percent ABV.

Friday, June 21 – Gluten-free Raspberry Margarita-Style Ale aged on tequila-soaked American oak, 4.6 percent.

Saturday, June 22 – Hazy IPA with Blackberry, 6.6. percent.

Thursday, June 27 – Milwaukee Lager with Lime Sugar, 4.2 percent.

Friday, June 28 – Brown Ale with Hazelnut, 5.8 percent.

Saturday, June 29 – Lemonade IPA, 6.7 percent.

Thursday, July 4 – Amber Lager with Vanilla Bean, 5.6 percent.

Friday, July 5 – Hazy IPA infused with Terpenes (Gelato, Blackberry Kush and Super Lemon Haze), 6.6 percent.

Saturday, July 6 – IPA with Pineapple aged on gin-soaked American oak, 6.7 percent.

Lakefront has also cooked up a spare firkin in case something should go awry with one of the others and that one is a Double Dry-Hopped Milwaukee Lager with Perle Hops, 4.2 percent.

These beers are $11 each.

The firkins are not a new idea for Lakefront, which has been doing them for a few years now.

This is a great way to explore some interesting beers at Summerfest, and I'm especially excited for the brown ale with hazelnut, which is totally my jam.
