Summer movie season is here ... except if you're a fan of these movies and TV shows on Netflix, which will all make like your winter jackets and snow shovels, and get thrown out of sight and into storage this month. (And now that I've typed that, I've doomed us to a May blizzard; I'm so sorry.)

I hope you feasted on the "Hunger Games" movies while you could, because after just getting added in March, the dystopian YA series is vanishing from the streaming service like Peeta using his cake decorating skills for camo. Those are far from the only blockbusters bailing in May too, as the horror hit "Insidious," the Will Ferrell/Mark Wahlberg action comedy "The Other Guys" and the '90s favorites "Boyz n the Hood," "L.A. Confidential" and "You've Got Mail" will join them in the streaming afterlife. (So ... Paramount+ maybe?)

As for everything else, here's the full list of movies and TV shows leaving Netflix on summer vacation.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
