The coronavirus shutdown has caused all of us to adjust our lives and stay at home – and while we're all undoubtedly strained and stressed out by the ramifications of it all, many people have found ways to use the seclusion to its fullest. Some have dedicated this time to finally finishing a project; others are mastering that skill they've always wanted to learn.

And then there's me, who decided to pop open a bottle (well, bottles) of wine and spend three days watching a bad reality show about bargain bin Hemsworths and off-brand "Property Brothers" trying to get married in a month to people they met blindly through some cheap blue Pier 1 decor. 

Yes, as OnMilwaukee's resident Pop Culture Idiot, I watched "Love Is Blind," Netflix's dating reality show where a bunch of generically attractive people flirt with other generically attractive people while isolated in "pods," unable to see the person they're talking to. Within less than a week, several of these people propose marriage – like A REAL LEGALLY-BINDING MARRIAGE – to strangers they've had smalltalk with through a wall. And that's just the start. The goal is to see if love is truly blind – though the "experiment" clearly just proves these contestants were blind drunk when they decided to participate in this craziness. It's all wildly ill-advised.

In order to turn this bad TV show into something good, though, I took to Facebook Live (and several bottles of grape squeezings) to recap the show. Because while we may not be able to gather at our local community centers right now, that doesn't mean we can't be a community, chatting and interacting and laughing with one another. And at the very least, hopefully my wine-soaked rants could provide a smile in these despairing times. 

Here are all three wine recaps for your watching pleasure – and stay tuned, because more are coming. This upcoming weekend, I'll pop open more vino and pop on Netflix's latest documentary craze, "Tiger King." We'll watch the show in three parts – episodes one and two for Friday, three and four for Saturday, and the final three chapters for Sunday – before meeting up on OnMilwaukee's Facebook page at 9:05 p.m. to drink wine and talk about the madness we just witnessed. And then drink more wine.
