The World Cup only comes around once every four years, giving soccer fans – and those who just enjoy the camaraderie of nations coming together in the spirit of competition – a reason to celebrate. Throughout the tournament, Lowlands Group will be showing nearly every game in its cafés, offering World Cup-themed food and drink specials and giving away fun prizes throughout the month.
The World Cup runs June 14 through July 15, kicking off when Russia plays Saudi Arabia on Thursday, June 14 at 9 a.m. During the tournament, several Lowlands Group restaurants will open earlier than usual to accommodate passionate fans. In fact, the restaurant group is showing 63 of the 64 games and opening as early as 6 a.m. at Café Bavaria.
Themed food specials offered during game times include the World Cup Omelette, Pretzel French Toast and the Champion Burger, among others. Thirsty fans can enjoy a variety of drink specials, including $4 Stella Artois and Bitburger beers, during the games. Because of the early scheduling of the games, a Yellow Card Bloody Mary was created that features a unique Rehorst sriracha & blue cheese-infused vodka.
The final team won’t be the only winner. The group is running several contests to make sure fans have a chance win too. Punch cards will be offered and guests can get one punch for every Stella Artois or Bitbuger beer purchased during the games, entering them into a drawing for a specialty soccer jersey or a 55" Smart TV for every punch card completed. In addition, any new subscribers to Lowlands’ email newsletter during the tournament will be entered into a contest to win a $500 restaurant gift card.
Finally, Lowlands Group’s June Bierklasse is all about the World Cup on Thursday, June 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. In this fun and interactive Bierklasse at Café Bavaria, participants will taste seven beers from all over the world, each brewed by an official sponsor of its country of origin’s futball team, as well as samples of BBQ Pork Sliders and more. Tickets can be purchased online at biersoftheworldcupbierklasse.eventbrite.com.
