The Milwaukee Public Market continues to evolve, grow and find its place in the Milwaukee market, if you will.

While I still believe that the market should open much earlier (only Cedarburg Coffee Roasters opens at 7 a.m.), many vendors have made positive changes lately adding more "grab and go" items and truly stepping up their customer service.

One vendor who continues to impress at the market, Azmi Alaeddin, just opened his second space. A World of Flavors is a complement to his Aladdin -- Tastes of the East, the new spot (which replaced Oskri Organics) specializing in natural, organic, specialty, ethnic, and gourmet foods.  You will find an impressive variety of dried fruits, nuts and granolas including a number of different kinds of rice, beans and grains.  Some of these items are Zergut brand, a product line specializing in vegetarian dips, spreads and appetizers using a variety of peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, and spices.

Flowers are back at the market too. Locker's has been at the Milwaukee Public Market for a few months now. Owned by Ed Boesen, the youngest son in the third generation of florists, Locker's started in the Milwaukee area in 1911. Emma Vogel, Locker's Director of Operations, is happy to be there. "Here at Locker's, we have treasured our place in Milwaukee's history, and now, we are very excited to be a part of the city's exciting future -- as a part of Milwaukee Public Market's elite group of vendors."

As rumors of more changes continue to swirl, it's your responsibility to tell the Market what you'd like to see and how you'd like it presented.  Contact them at: info@milwaukeepublicmarket.org
