As more Paul McCartney dates are announced it becomes (theoretically) easier to predict when his Miller Park concert – expected to be made public in a Monday morning announcement – will take place.
I was seated in the press box at Opening Day on April 1 when I got the release about the first date announced for the 2013 "Out There" tour: July 9 at Boston's Fenway Park. That led me to tweet:
First date on Paul McCartney tour announced: July 9 at Fenway. Will he add Miller Park, @brewers ? — Bobby Tanzilo (@BobbyOnMKEcom) April 1, 2013
I'm happy if the answer is indeed "yes."
Today, Indianapolis was added on July 14. Second dates have been added in three cities: Orlando, Tulsa and Austin.
Here is the current itinerary:
May 18 - Orlando FL - Amway Center (SOLD OUT)
May 19 - Orlando FL - Amway Center
May 22 - Austin TX - Frank Erwin Center (SOLD OUT)
May 23 - Austin TX - Frank Erwin Center
May 26 - Memphis TN - FedEx Forum
May 29 - Tulsa OK - BOK Center (SOLD OUT)
May 30 - Tulsa OK - BOK Center
July 9 - Boston MA - Fenway Park (SOLD OUT)
July 12 - Washington DC - Nationals Ballpark
July 14 - Indianapolis IN - Bankers Life Fieldhouse
July 19 - Seattle WA - Safeco Field
It seems likely to me that they'd route McCartney to Milwaukee between Indy and Seattle – though after Tulsa might also be a possibility.
The Brewers are away May 31-June 2, which would allow for a day for set-up, a day for the gig and a day for tear-down before the Crew returns home. It doesn't, however, leave room for a potential second date.
More compelling is July 16. That would allow a travel date from Indy, plus a potential second date to be added the 17th. The Brewers are away or inactive – the All-Star Game takes place July 16 – from July 11 through 18.
Of course, the date could be the 17th, too, with a potential second date workable on the 16th. Either way, there would still be time to travel to Seattle.
We'll keep watching and let you know what we learn.
