It's Day 3 of the Milwaukee Film Festival, and to help guide you through the flurry of films and forums the day has to offer, here are OnMilwaukee staff writer and resident film nerd Matt Mueller's three picks for what you should check out.
Michael Phillips' "Keynote: State of Cinema" address will be at noon today at KSE 620. "The Look of Silence" shows today at 4:15 p.m. at the Fox-Bay Cinema, as well as Friday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. at the Downer Theatre and on Monday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Avalon Theater. "Eden" shows today at 10 p.m. at the Times Cinema, as well as Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9:15 p.m. at the Oriental Theatre and Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Avalon Theater.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
