The show must go on – at least that's the case for the Milwaukee Fringe Festival, which will return this summer to the Downtown stage (as well as your computer screen) for a part-live/part-virtual 2021 edition this August.
The beloved art showcase – featuring performers and creatives from the worlds of theater, visual arts, music, dance, performance art and beyond – will return to the Peck Pavilion stage as well as other outside spaces around the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Aug. 28. However, the festival will also include a virtual component to this year's edition, hosting pre-recorded performances on its website throughout the month of August as well.
Started in 2016 with the help of Wisconsin native and Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe, the Milwaukee Fringe Festival had to cancel its 2020 edition, originally scheduled for Aug. 21-23 last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
