I personally consider myself an ambassador of Milwaukee, very much like OnMilwaukee does. I talk to Uber drivers and tell them the same. After all, they are sometimes the first contact someone has when visiting the Good Land. We all play a part in how others perceive the city – and that is always why it feels so great to have national press recognize this gem on the lake that is all ours.
Today, Vogue Magazine's Christina Perez covered all of the reasons and more why we should be proud – and loudly, I should add – of Milwaukee. The piece titled "Why Milwaukee, Wisconsin Is the Midwest’s Coolest (and Most Underrated) City" certainly does a good job highlighting some of our best assets.
Christine shares that "ever since its early days as an agricultural port and brewing capitol, Wisconsin’s largest city has been a magnet for industry, immigrants and intrigue. And now, thanks to a Downtown building boom and an influx of new restaurants, bars, hotels and shops, the city’s diverse and highly walkable neighborhoods are experiencing a revival that’s drawing visitors like never before."
'Tis all true.
The piece is targeted at the higher-end, primarily white female audience who reads Vogue, for sure, so it's disappointing – if not all that surprising – some of our more diverse options such as The Tandem, Casablanca, Irie Zulu and more missed out on a very deserved shoutout. Still, I give two Fonz thumbs ups to this piece.

Carolynn Buser is one of Milwaukee's loudest and most adamant cheerleaders (don't dare try to disagree). She's the primary voice behind much of OnMilwaukee's social media and content direction, and apologizes in advance if she can be too sarcastic at times.
What else? She's a wine lover, closet trashy novel reader, beauty supplies addict and devourer of cheese (shocker for a Wisconsin born and bred girl, right?). She's also a bit of a foodie, which is a word most of you hate, we know. She works as hard as she plays - and that includes in the gym! So, you've probably seen her at one of the area's newest restaurant openings (and yes, she will share her opinions good or bad) or enjoying a cold one at a local pub.
All in all, Carolynn's a believer in positive thinking and will do her best to smack down your negative ones while writing about her city, her loves, quests and more.
