With a nice mix of open dance space and seating areas, not to mention a consistent lineup of local acts and some great homegrown beer, it is no surprise that the voters have chosen Milwaukee Ale House as the best bar to see live music at for the third consecutive year.

Milwaukee Ale House, located at 233 N. Water St., keeps its stage full on a near-nightly basis, and will often change up its acts to make sure that a variety of musical tastes are satisfied on a weekly basis.

The historic, six-story Saddlery building in which the Ale House is located has become known as a lively night-spot and that has brightened Water Street for years.

Unlike some of previous categories, the voters selected a clear runner-up as well, in the Cactus Club. As for the thought in house, we at OnMilwaukee.com recognized the new leadership over The Jazz Estate for bringing new and bigger name acts to the club off N. Murray Ave.

OnMilwaukee.com editors’ pick: The Jazz Estate

Runners-up:
2. Cactus Club
3. The Jazz Estate
4. Red Rock Saloon
5. Kochanski’s Concertina Beer Hall
