The Miller High Life Theatre – formerly the Milwaukee Theatre and Milwaukee Auditorium – has played host to a lot over its century of existence: Presidents and First Ladies, iconic music acts, a speech from a blood-soaked Theodore Roosevelt post-assassination attempt and, according to staff members, even some ghosts.

One thing it's never had, however? A permanent beer tap – ironic considering its current name.

That's all changing this weekend, though, with the introduction of the brand new Miss Lizzie's bar, located on the end of the theater's outer lobby, framed by two of the building's gorgeous Thorsten Lindberg murals.

Named after early Milwaukee philanthropist and patron of the arts Elizabeth Plankinton, the new space takes a former coat check and turns it into a comfortable lounge featuring Miller High Life, Miller Lite and Blue Moon on tap along with a menu of Pepsi products, Henry's Hard Soda, canned beer and cocktails – including a specialty mixed drink for each event, such as the fruity Robot Rollcall for Saturday night's "Mystery Science Theater 3000" live show.

What else can you find at Milwaukee's newest bar? Let's chat with Sarah Maio, vice president of marketing and communications for the Wisconsin Center District, about Miss Lizzie's – and also take a swig of some drinks. It is Friday, after all.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
