Monsters, Indonesian westerns and severed heads: It's just another day at the Milwaukee Film Festival! Indeed, Day 12 at our annual cinema extravaganza has more to offer than your usual Monday – so let's dive right in with my three picks to see. After all, there's no time to waste; including today, there's only four days left!
Here's where and when you can find my three to see for Day 12 of the Milwaukee Film Festival:
- "Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts" will show at the Avalon at 1:15 p.m. (Since this is arriving a little late, "Marlina" will show again on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 8:45 p.m. at the Jan Serr Studio Cinema.)
- "The Milwaukee Show II" will show at the Oriental Theatre at 7 p.m.
- "Lake Michigan Monster" will show at the Jan Serr Studio Cinema at 9 p.m.
- "A Conversation with DeWanda Wise" will take place at 7 p.m. at the UWM Union-Ballroom.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
