The Mongolian Grill plans on opening in April, which is such a long time to wait for a great restaurant. But being so close location-wise will make up for the wait.
The point of Mongolian Grill is the basic create your own stir fry. Now there are probably a few people who say "Why not stay at home for a create your own?" Well, besides the atmosphere, the Mongolian Grill offers plenty of options for a night out. Being a picky eater myself, it's a great place to know exactly what's going into my food as well as have the opportunity to choose how much of something I want on my plate. Plus I don't have to do the dishes.
The first task of a diner is to choose the meat that you'd like in your dish -- there are several varieties of meat, poultry and seafood. Next are the vegetables, exotic like bok choy to the normal bits of broccoli. The choice of sauce depends on your mood, spicy or sweet. There's also a choice of rice or noodles as the bed to put your stir fry on.
All the food is fried up, not in normal fry pans, but on top of a circular grill used to represent old Mongolian ways of using a warrior's shield as a cooking pan.
Personally, I love rice with chicken, teriyaki sauce, broccoli, tomatoes (if they are available), pea pods and heaps of baby corn. Yum. I can't wait for the grand opening.
