Netflix announced its monthly list of departures today. The short version? All of the good movies are leaving. All of the bad ones too! Never thought I'd be sad to see "The Emoji Movie" leave my television screen, but here we are.

The long version is that a lot of great stuff is leaving the Big Red Streaming Monolith next month – including critical classics like "Zodiac," "No Country for Old Men," "The Hurt Locker" and "The Master; cult classics like "The Fifth Element," "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and "Just Friends"; and just plain classics like "Scarface" and "Poltergeist." I've warned about the impending streaming apocalypse before, and I guess I'll do it again: With every studio wanting to get in on the streaming game – aka wanting to force you to spend $15 a month to watch its content rather than spend $30 once on a DVD or Blu-ray – they're all taking their TV shows and movies back, which will leave Netflix looking awfully empty in the near future save for 10 originals that you'll have heard of and about 90 that you definitely haven't.

Anyways, enjoy Netflix while you can – and enjoy the following movies and TV shows before they're gone in August!

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
