Today Netflix announced its list of departures for the month of February – and would you look at that, there's only 16 movies on here! That's super short! That's barely a purge at all. So feel free to look at the below list with all the confidence and no fear.

(*actually looks at list of films leaving the streaming service*)

MY GOD, IT'S A MASSACRE.

Sure, the list of movies getting axed from the Big Red Streaming Monolith next month isn't long, but just about everything on it is a devastating loss. Cult classics like "The Big Lebowski," "Black Dynamite," "Clerks," "Ella Enchanted," "Shaun of the Dead" and "Piranha" will all be murdered, alongside the kid-friendly hit "Sing" and the less kid-friendly hit "The Bourne Ultimatum." Plus, my personal favorite movie of all time, "Children of Men," will die off after just three months on the service. NO VALENTINE'S DAY CARD FOR YOU, NETFLIX!

With no further ado, here's the short but stark list of movies and TV shows leaving Netflix in February.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
