Ringing in the new year means resolutions – and unfortunately, it looks like Netflix has resolved to lose pretty much every movie in its collection. OK, so that's a little extreme, but judging by its newly released list of movies getting the axe in January, its library is going to look a bit lighter to start 2019.
If Netflix has a blockbuster that you love, for instance, get to watching it over the holiday break because it's probably on its way out. "Rogue One," "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring," "Armageddon," all three "Godfather" movies and all of the "Sharknado" films will wave goodbye in January – and that's just a handful of the big movies vanishing like your New Years resolution come the second week of the month.
A horror fan? This terror is coming for you as well, as the cult horror hit "It Follows" and the new National Film Registry appointee "The Shining" will arrive at the Big Red Streaming Monolith's pearly gates in January. And on the complete other side of the cinematic spectrum, hit children's picks like "The Iron Giant" and "Kung Fu Panda" will get kicked off the service, as well.
There is SOME good news, though: "Catwoman" will be gone, too. Small victories.
Here's the full list of everything leaving Netflix in January.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
