The list of Netflix departures in July making you feel blue heading into the red, white and blue month? Well hopefully this can help: a Fourth of July fireworks-sized list of new arrivals coming to the Big Red Streaming Monolith, featuring some of the service's biggest blockbusters of the year.
So about those big blockbusters: The latest season of "Stranger Things" will come to an explosive close with the final few episodes of the sci-fi throwback favorite arriving on the first of the month. Then, later in July, the directors of "Avengers: Endgame" will try to make another Thanos-sized imprint on Hollywood with "The Grey Man," an espionage action thriller starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Chris Evans' mustache.
Between those two alone, Netflix should have a rare positive 2022 month – but that's not all. Other blockbusters joining the library include "The Dark Knight Rises," "I Am Legend" and even the recent live-action video game hit "Uncharted." Dakota Johnson will star in an updated Austin adaptation of "Persuasion" – and as for some more modern comedy classics, "Big Daddy," "Mean Girls" and "Old School" will all arrive on the streamer as well. For something more serious, the Oscar favorites "Catch Me If You Can," "Goodfellas" (RIP Ray Liotta), "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Deliverance" will all bring some gold to the Big Red Streaming Monolith. And speaking of "Deliverance" and retro picks, Netflix's miniscule amount of movies made before 1980 will increase by at least two in July with that backwoods thriller and "The Dirty Dozen."
And then there's a bunch of other Netflix originals that ... may or may not be real things? "King of Stonks"? Sure, that sounds like a legitimate show. "How to Build a Sex Room" and "Mom, Don't Do That"? Is this a parody of Netflix? And I can guarantee the Netflix original "Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between" only exists because its name sounds just like the indie hit "Everything Everywhere All At Once."
We'll find out if those are actual productions and not just joke titles eventually. But before then, here's the full list of new movies and TV shows coming to Netflix next month.

"The Wretched"
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
