April showers bring May flowers ... and also new releases to Netflix!

The streaming service announce its latest batch of arrivals – and while the summer blockbuster season in theaters may be delayed a bit, Netflix will bring the big-budget, star-studded blowouts right from the start. Director Zack Snyder will make his return to the zombie genre with "Army of the Dead," while the much-delayed Hitchcockian mystery "Woman in the Window" starring Amy Adams will finally see the light of day after making the leap from a theatrical release to the Big Red Streaming Monolith.

Even Netflix's outside acquisitions are big names, highlighted by the "Back to the Future" trilogy – its third return in less than a year's time. Talk about history repeating itself! Elsewhere, return to your trauamtized childhood with the animated weepie "The Land Before Time" or map out fun double features based around Julia Roberts ("Notting Hill" and "The Pelican Brief") or gangster movies ("Scarface" and "Layer Cake," featuring a pre-Bond Daniel Craig). Plus, if Netflix's new take on the zombie genre bites, you'll at least be able to get the taste out of your mouth with the recent undead favorite "Zombieland."

So even though you probably won't want to stay indoors during the (hopefully) wonderful weather of May – especially after the past year – Netflix will offer plenty of tempting reasons to do exactly that.

Here's the full list of everything coming to Netflix next month:

Matt Mueller Culture Editor

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
