You won't just be feasting on turkey and pumpkin pie this next month, as Netflix announced a true cornucopia of fresh movies and TV shows coming to the streaming service in November.

Of course, there's the usual supply of movies produced outside the Big Red Streaming Monolith – including outstanding action thrillers like "Captain Phillips" and "Training Day," fun blockbusters like "The Mask of Zorro" and awards season standouts including "Still Alice" and "Up in the Air." If the World Series makes you hungry for more hardball, "Moneyball" will return to the streaming service on the first of the month – and if you're still in the spooky season spirit after Oct. 31, Netflix will have family-friendly frights like the "Goosebumps" movie and the macabre hidden gem "The Boxtrolls." And for something less spooky and more slick, there's also the new animated heist hit "The Bad Guys."

And those are just the side dishes, as the main course nowadays is the Netflix Originals – and there are plenty to gobble up this Turkey Day season.

New seasons of smash-hit shows "The Crown" and "Dead to Me" will arrive on the streaming service along with a sequel to the Millie Bobby Brown-led Sherlock spinoff "Enola Holmes." Tim Burton's highly anticipated Wednesday Addams spinoff will also drop on the Big Red Streaming Monolith ... just in time for spooky, scary season to be over. Weird timing on that one, guys – though at least they've got the timing perfect on several soccer-themed programs, with "The Soccer Football Movie" and the doc series expose "FIFA Uncovered" kicking it on the streamer just in time for the 2022 World Cup.

Speaking of timing, it's almost the most wonderful time of the year – which means Netflix has a bunch of new Kirkland-brand original Christmas movies, one even starring Lindsay Lohan. Not only is it the holiday season, though; it's also Oscar season, so keep an eye on the Florence Pugh-starring drama "The Wonder" for your awards viewing. Add in docs like the in-depth Black cinema tribute "Is That Black Enough for You," the sitcom/Netflix victory lap "Blockbuster" about the video rental store it destroyed and a new cooking show called "Snack vs. Chef," and you've got plenty of new stuff to watch while you're resting off the tryptophan.

Matt Mueller Culture Editor

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
