Shorewood is set to get a bit funkier, architecturally, at least.

Last week, the Village of Shorewood's Community Development Authority recommended approving a facade improvement grant for the North Shore Bank Building at the corner of Oakland Avenue and Capitol Drive.

I bank at North Shore so this proposed enhancement at 3970 N. Oakland Ave. perked my interest. It's a marquee corner and one that commands good design, so I'm encouraged that the building owners and village would endorse a bold step.
