In January, the Academy revealed their latest batch of Oscar nominees – and they left us with plenty of intriguing questions to ponder until early March.
How could the Academy viciously insult the blockbuster comedy "Barbie" with a mere eight nominations, making it one of the most nominated films of the year? How could they snub Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig ... by still nominating them for Oscars (for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay), just in one less category than expected? Is there any more clear demonstration of the patriarchy in action than Ken getting nominated instead of Barbie ... even though they're in completely different categories and Robbie's presumed actress spot was taken by another woman performer from the past year?
OK, but there are a lot of legitimate questions to puzzle for just a few more days. Like will the "Barbie" surprises result in an "Argo"-like momentum boost? Will Christopher Nolan finally win an Oscar – and many more than one for "Oppenheimer"? Is the Flamin' Hot Cheetos movie seriously from now on to be called an Oscar-nominated Flamin' Hot Cheetos movie? And what the heck is "Letter to a Pig" – and please tell me it's about someone writing an actual letter to an actual pig?
The most pressing question, though: Where can we actually watch all these dang movies?!
In our new streaming universe, it's arguably never been easier to find the movie you're looking for ... but at the same time, it's arguably never been harder to keep track of which of the 97 streaming services has the nominee you're wanting to watch – or if it's still on the big screen, where it plays best. So, to help Oscar obsessives and awards season amateurs alike catch up on all the quality nominees selected from the past year (and "Nyad"), here's a regularly updated guide to where you can find this year's films – from the big screen to binge-happy streamers and beyond.
And with that, happy Oscar watching – and we'll see who wins on March 10!
(Oh, actually one more short note ... fittingly about the about shorts: If you really want extra credit and want to be an Oscar-watching completist, the shorts nominees – live-action, animated and documentary – are in local theaters right now, currently showing at the Oriental. Now, on with the show(s)!)

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
