MilwaukeeHome, the Milwaukee-inspired brand created by Melissa Thornton, has created a very cool niche in Milwaukee.  The shirts and other gear are well made, highly visible and the brand’s become a symbol for Milwaukee not to mention a great way to fly your civic pride. I have at least three shirts that I wear regularly.

Now, the brand’s going national as it’s expanded into multiple markets as ourhomecity.com.

"I figure if I don't do it, someone else will. And everyone has a place they call home. However the best part of it all is that each shirt that goes out will have a screen printed tag that will say 'Established in Milwaukee' so that everyone knows that we Milwaukeens were the first to have the Home brand.  So, it also helps put Milwaukee as a whole on the map," Thornton told me.

Every city can now try to be as cool as Milwaukee.  Cities like St. Louis, Philadelphia, Compton, Minneapolis, Austin, Atlanta, Boston and Chicago are all represented in the new Our Home City line.
As Thorton and MilwaukeeHome says, we all have a home.  And, as I like to say, we all have a responsibility to represent our cities.

So, if you don’t own a MilwaukeeHome tee, buy one.  But, if you’re not from Milwaukee or need a great gift that was established in Milwaukee, check out ourhomecity.  They also have cool mugs, stickers and other items and design charity, event and team-based designs.
