After a performance alongside Sabrina Carpenter on the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary special, Paul Simon is returning to the stage once again.
On Tuesday, the legendary singer-songwriter, who has battled hearing loss issues, announced "A Quiet Celebration Tour," set for this spring and summer. That will include two nights at the Riverside Theater on May 17th and 18th. The show will feature the live debut of his Grammy-nominated album "Seven Psalms" alongside a selection of his classics.
The tour is a new venture for Simon, who has spent recent years adapting to severe hearing loss in his left ear. While recording "Seven Psalms," his hearing began to decline, which made live performances seem impossible. Help from the Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss and his production team is allowing Simon to reimagine his stage setup to make performing feasible.
The album, recorded on entirely acoustic instruments, is structured as a continuous piece of music in seven movements. The tour focuses on venues with great acoustics, which is why Simon and his team selected the Riverside, specifically. The tour will also include three nights at Chicago's Symphony Center and three at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
Tickets for Paul Simon at the Riverside Theater will go on sale on Friday, February 21st at 10 a.m. via the Pabst Theater Group website.
