The Pitch, Hit & Run competition is a free event that provides youngsters an opportunity to participate in a baseball skills competition at Helfaer Field, the same location as the former Milwaukee County Stadium playing field.

Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball.

Boys and girls compete separately and have the opportunity to compete in four levels of competition including Locals, Sectionals, Team Championships and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game.

The competition is May 19 from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 14.

Age is determined as of July 17, 2013.

The following chart is an age group breakdown PHR events:

  • Age 7/8: July 18, 2004 to July 17, 2006
  • Age 9/10: July 18, 2002 to July 17, 2004
  • Age 11/12: July 18, 2000 to July 17, 2002
  • Age 13/14: July 18, 1998 to July 17, 2000
