You want your first official sign that summer is well on its way? We've got outdoor concert announcements.

The Westown Association has finalized its 2009 River Rhythms lineup, and it includes Greg Koch, Paul Cebar, and Brother. The free concert series in Pere Marquette Park (on Old World Third Street between Kilbourn and State Streets) kicks off June 10 at 6:30 p.m.

But there's more. For the first time in its 13-year span, River Rhythms is hosting a Battle of the Bands as part of Downtown Employee Appreciation Week events, on Wednesday, July 29.

The schedule:

June 10 -- Old Mil
Milwaukee's ultimate cover band will play the greatest hits and favorites to kickoff another exciting season of Milwaukee's fastest growing music series.

June 17 -- Sindoola
Enjoy an evening of live drummers and dancers and experience the sounds and rhythms of West Africa with this energetic band.

June 24 -- Skeleton Crew
This four-part trombone jazz band offers a traditional style with a distinctive half-twist. The sounds are sure to impress at Pere Marquette Park this summer!

July 1 -- Greg Koch
Greg Koch brings together a group of renowned musicians for a night of blues, jazz, rock, and funk delivered with taste and humor.

July 8 -- De La Buena
De La Buena's young talents bring spirit and energy to Latin American big band standards and originals.

July 15 -- Brother
Brother is a powerhouse Celtic tribal trio that has toured internationally. Their legendary shows have reached a whole new level with the band's energy and sound.

July 22 -- Doo Wop Daddies
The 'Daddies' capture the demanding vocal style of Doo-Wop music with unsurpassed excellence.

July 29 -- Downtown Employee Appreciation Week's Battle of the Bands
You be the judge as Downtown Milwaukee employees join their top amateur bands after hours to battle it out and win Downtown Employee Appreciation Week's Battle of the Bands competition!

Aug. 5 -- Paul Cebar
Milwaukee favorite, Cebar and his band, create original music that encompasses the best of R&B and world music flavors, heavy on percussion and dance grooves.

Aug. 12 -- The Urbanites
The Urbanites are here to rock Pere Marquette Park steady and keep the fire blazing with their variety of original songs as well as the reggae standards.

Aug. 19 -- Streetlife
Streetlife performs a unique blend of R&B, smooth jazz, and contemporary styles, combining superb musicianship and vocals with an exciting stage presence.

Aug. 26 -- Hounds Tooth & Alex Wilson
Round out the 2009 season of River Rhythms with two of Milwaukee's up and coming blues artists as Hounds Tooth and Alex Wilson share the stage at Pere Marquette Park.
