For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."

Roman Candle Pizza will open in early December in Whitefish Bay at 133 E. Silver Spring Dr. in the former Peabody’s Interiors. 

This is the fourth location, and the first to open in Milwaukee. Roman Candle Pizza restaurants are also in Madison, Middleton and Fitchburg.

According to marketing director Amanda Veith, the reason owner Brewer Stouffer picked Whitefish Bay after scouting locations for two years was for one main reason.

"Family, family, family," says Veith. "He looked long and hard and thought this was the ideal space."

Roman Candle Pizza will offer handmade pizza with classic and unique toppings (beets and walnuts, for example) along with appetizers, salads, pasta dishes and craft beer.

The food will be available for dine-in or carry out and the environment will feature a 15-foot tall wooden rocket for kids to play on and eat in.

"It’s going to be a really great place for people and families to hang out. Roman Candle Pizza is about the dining experience as much as the pizza," says Veith.
