National men’s blog Gear Patrol listed Milwaukee’s Sanford as one of its top 25 restaurants in the country this week. The award-winning restaurant is Wisconsin’s only inclusion in its list.

"Our litmus test was simple," writes Gear Patrol. "These 25 American restaurants are the places we’d send a friend if he had time for one meal in Chicago, Denver, Houston or any of the other cities on this list. One city, one suggestion, one good meal. Thank you. You’re welcome."

Sanford, 1547 N. Jackson St., received a very short description, so it’s not obvious if the list’s authors had actually visited. It recommends "whatever’s on the four-course menu, plus a local beer from Sprecher or Lakefront."
