This April marks a milestone for Sendik’s, a family grocery which has grown from one store – opened by the Balistreri family in 1926 – to 13 locations in the metro Milwaukee area.

In celebration of its 90th year, all Sendik’s locations will feature specials (including a "90-year deal of the week"), offer special anniversary scratch-off tickets and host in-store events from April 20 to May 3.

Highlights include periodic visits from the Klement’s Racing Sausages and appearances from former Green Bay Packers star Mark Tauscher on April 23 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Sendik’s in New Berlin or later in the afternoon from noon until 1 p.m. at Sendik’s in Brookfield.

Throughout the celebration, customers can also register on in-store iPads for a chance to win a trip for two to Italy, an offering that pays homage to the Balistreri family's origins in Sicily.

Sendik’s locations include stores in Bayside, Brookfield, Elm Grove, Franklin, Germantown, Grafton, Greenfield, Hartland, Mequon, New Berlin, Wauwatosa, Whitefish Bay and West Bend.

In addition, a new Sendik’s location broke ground April 11 on the east side of Miller Park Way in West Milwaukee between Mitchell and Burnham streets. Additional announced locations include Greendale, Hales Corners and a second Brookfield store.
