Sendik's Food Markets announced today that the locally-owned grocer will open a new location at 701 Meadowbrook Dr. in Waukesha.

The location, a part of the Meadowbrook Shopping Center, is currently a Sentry Foods, but Sendik's plans to lease the property and renovate it later this year into an approximately 49,000-square-foot, full-line Sendik's Food Market. The new store – which will employ 150 full- and part-time employees – is expected to offer a full complement of grocery offerings, as well as hand-stacked produce, a Fresh2GO deli, full-service meat and bakery counters, a Sendik's Home department and more.

"This is our 90th year in business, and we are very flattered that the demand for our brand continues to grow," said family co-owner Ted Balistreri, in a press release. "We know we’ve found a great location to better serve the residents of Waukesha, many of whom were already traveling to our New Berlin and Elm Grove stores. With the completion of the Western Waukesha Bypass, this will become a destination store with easy access for our new neighbors."

The Waukesha location marks the fifth new store recently announced and the thirteenth overall for the brand. No estimated opening date is available for the Waukesha grocer, but Sendik's notes that all five of its recent additions are expected to open within the next 12 to 15 months.
