If taking a relaxing sunset cruise on Lake Michigan while sipping a cocktail or soft drink and listening to dangerous, heartbreaking stories about maritime disasters on the Great Lakes sounds like something you’d fancy, then you’re definitely in luck.

OnMilwaukee is giving away two sets of tickets every Tuesday to “Shipwrecks of the Great Lakes,” a 90-minute cruise every Thursday night this summer hosted by Anna Lardinois. Or go here to purchase tickets for $25.

“It is estimated that there have been at least 6,000 shipwrecks on the Great Lakes and over 30,000 lives have been lost in those wrecks,” says Lardinois.

Lardinois is an award-winning tour guide and owner of haunted history walking tour, Gothic Milwaukee. She recently released her third book, "Shipwrecks of the Great Lakes," which she researched and wrote during the pandemic.

Now, she’s taking her spine-tingling tales to the waters. Milwaukee Boatline’s Vista King departs from the Riverwalk every Thursday evening at 8 p.m. through Sept. 2. A bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and light snacks is on deck.

“Best of all are the views,” says Lardinois. “The sunset over the skyline will take your breath away. It feels magical.”

The chance to win tickets to this unique boating and storytelling experience will take place every Tuesday on OnMilwaukee’s Facebook page.

“While sailing this route we are literally sailing over the graves of people who lost their lives during a shipwreck. This should make me uncomfortable, but it thrills me. Everyone wants to be remembered,” says Lardinois.
