It's time for Dining Month, presented by Deer District and its spooky Halloween-themed alter ego, Fear District. Throughout the month of October, we'll be serving up fun and fascinating content about all things food. The signature dish, however, is our 2019 Best of Dining poll, who's winners we will dish out all month long. Get hungry, Milwaukee!

In the spring of 2018, David Braeger gave new life to the Silver Spring House, 6655 N. Green Bay Ave., a historic bar and restaurant that shuttered a couple of months earlier.

Braeger spruced up the restaurant with a refreshed look, feel and menu, but it wasn't enough to save the establishment. According to Facebook, the Silver Spring House will close again, most likely for good, on Sunday.

"It is with great sadness that I announce that the Silver Spring House will be closing it's doors for good after business on Sunday," Braeger wrote on Facebook Thursday night. "I am honored to have been a part of the great Glendale community the last 2 years and I wish my dream to save the iconic restaurant would have been of greater success."

One last fish fry at this classic spot, Milwaukee?
