Holidays such as New Year’s Eve and St. Patrick’s Day are notorious for being alcohol-centered celebrations, and many bars are filled to capacity to accommodate festive partiers. However, other people steer clear of bars and clubs during these holidays because of the high level of drunken rowdiness.

What about you? Do you plan to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at a bar, or is green beer and shamrock hats for “amateurs?” Sound-off, Milwaukee, we want to hear your thoughts.

I’m going out for St. Patrick’s Day. I go out every year for St. Paddy’s Day and I always have a blast. This year, St. Patrick’s Day is going to be more fun than ever because Milwaukee has so many new Irish pubs like Brocach, 1850 N. Water St., and Trinity Three Irish Pubs, 125 E. Juneau Ave. I plan to hit the bars early, stay late and possibly call in sick to work the next day.

No thanks, I’ll celebrate the holiday at home. I refuse to go out to bars when so many drunken idiots are out and about. St. Patrick’s Day is the worst, with so many young, wasted people wearing green beads and drinking awful green beer. I would much rather enjoy a Guinness or a Harp from the comfort of my home and not have to deal with obnoxious and amateur behavior.
